New Delhi: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is on a high with five back-to-back hits – COCKTAIL, RACE 2, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, CHENNAI EXPRESS and now GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAM-LEELA, to her credit. If the rumours are to be believed, then the actress is being offered the highest as producers have lined up to sign her thereby making her Bollywood’s best paid actress.
Another trade expert is more wary in his assessment and says, “Deepika has come a long way from the days of her plain Jane avatar in her debut film OM SHANTI OM. Today, she is a sex goddess. She has worked her way up. She should continue to work with big stars in woman-oriented films.
An insider adds, “Deepika Padukone in all her films is a delight to look at and her performance has more nuances. It would be extremely difficult to figure which film to nominate her for. Interestingly, Deepika too has decided to make hay while the sun shines and has hiked her fees, thus making her the highest paid actress. Well, it seems Bollywood’s other ladies need to buck up!
