Narendra Modi to address 4 more rallies in Karnataka

ModiNew Delhi: As per the earlier schedule, Modi was to have addressed eight rallies in the district centres in addition to the one addressed by him in Bangalore on November 17. The Bharatiya Janata Party has increased the number of rallies to be addressed by its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the State to 12 from the earlier eight.

However, the BJP State unit, which sees in him a lead campaigner for the party to improve its position in the State after its defeat in the Assembly polls, has managed to convince him to address an additional four rallies. Modi will address these rallies in the last week of December. The party is yet to finalize the venues for the rallies.

The BJP, on Thursday, drew up a schedule for a series of conventions and programmes related to preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. State unit office-bearers and leaders in-charge in the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies attended a brainstorming session to work out a schedule for the poll preparations comprising booth-level, Lok Sabha constituency-level and State-level conventions.

After the meeting, BJP spokesperson S. Suresh Kumar told presspersons that the party would hold a workshop for important leaders from each one of the wards before December 15 to train them on the methods of involving themselves in the ongoing process of revision of electoral rolls.

This would be followed by a meeting of the Lok Sabha constituency-level election management committee members and district-level party workers convention. To begin with, the party would hold booth-level programmers to mark the birthday of the former Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee on December 5, he said.
