Shiv Sena’s Saamna targeted Modi for ‘appeasing’ Muslims

Uddhav ThackerayMumbai: Shiv Sena alleged that all parties were trying to protect themselves as a messiah of Muslims, and attempts were being made to ensure the visible presence of burqa-clad women at public meetings. Through this fresh comment, Shiv Sena had targeted over Gujarat chief minister and the BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi.

Shiv Sena through its mouthpiece Saamna, said on Wednesday, “for the sake of power, issues like the Ram Temple (at Ayodhya) and the uniform civil code are being kept aside and special attempts are made to ensure that women wearing burqas are visible at public meetings.”

It is known that this editorial had been edited by Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and has Rajya Sabha MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut as the executive editor. The editorial alleged that instead of doing away with this practice which is associated with the Congress, political parties were trying to appease the minorities.
