Jayanthi Natarajan resigns from Cabinet

Jayanthi NatarajanNew Delhi: Minister of State for Environment and Forest, Jayanthi Natarajan had served its resignation on Saturday to President Pranab Mukherjee.

Sources claimed that Natarajan has served its resignation on the call of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi is planning for revamp Congress for the Lok Sabha election which is going to held in May of next year.

Notify that President Pranab Mukherjee has accepted the resignation of Natarajan.

Rashtrapati Bhavan had given a statement according to which M Veerappa Moily, Petroleum Minister has been given the additional charge of environment ministry.

Sources also claimed that more ministers are also expected to resign on behalf of preparation of Lok Sabha elections.

Jayanthi Natarajan has been asked to return to party work. She has been expected to draft over to work on manifesto and other election matters.

Jayanthi Natarajan is a senior member of Rajya Sabha and serving from Tamil Nadu and third term in Rajya Sabha. She was serving for environment ministry for last two years.
