RSS chief denies any terror charge, accuses Congress of political conspiracyNew Delhi: The RSS has denied its involvement in any terror strike following reports of allegations leveled against its chief Mohan Bhagwat by terror accused Swami Aseemanand. This is a political conspiracy. Aseemanand has clarified he never said this. We have to see the timing, Ram Madhav, member of the RSS National Executive said.

Aseemanand’s lawyer said to News channel, the veracity of the interview had to be checked. I have no knowledge about this interview being given. I don’t think anyone can be authorised to go to jail and take his statement,” lawyer Subhash Sharma said.

The Caravan magazine published audio tapes and transcripts of an interview with Aseemanand, in which he allegedly blames RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for the Samjhauta Express, the Hyderabad Mecca Masjid and the Ajmer Dargah blasts in 2007.

“Mohanji told me that you can work on this. We will not be involved. But if you are doing this, you can consider us to be with you on this. If you do this we are ensured that nothing wrong will happen. This will be on the right course,” Aseemanand allegedly said.

party leader Salman Khurshid said,The Congress has demanded a probe. “It’s a matter of national security. Truth must come out. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde argued “there must be some truth” in Aseemanand’s statements.

The BJP, however, accused the Congress of conspiracy. “Congress comes up with such things when elections are close. The RSS has made it clear that it’s a conspiracy, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
