Akshay Kumar's 'Holiday' to earn Rs 40.03 crore in the opening weekendMumbai: Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Holiday-A soldier is never off duty’ has collected a decent 40.03 crore in the opening weekend.

The film starts off slowly but caught momentum as days passed. The film has done well in Mumbai and in both single theatres and multiplexes.

Released over 3500 screens across the world, ‘Holiday-A soldier is never off duty’ registered occupancy of about 35% and 40% in the morning shows across the country.

Holiday is a remake of the 2012 Tamil film Thuppakki starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles which was also directed by A. R. Murugadoss.  Akshay essays the role of an Army officer for which Akshay lost weight to fit in the role and worked really hard to look 12 years younger.
