FIFA WC 2014: Ronaldo's dreams out of clash of the titansNew Delhi: While superstars like Neymar and Lionel Messi took their teams into the knock out stage of the FIFA World Cup 2014, it was the end of the journey for Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal, who was knocked out, despite a 2-1 win over Ghana on Thursday.

Ronaldo, who was struggling with his form in this World Cup, scored his first goal of this edition but that couldn`t prevent his team`s elimination from the tournament along with the African`s. Ronaldo hit the winner with his left foot in the 80th minute to break his drought in Brazil and gave Portugal their first win.
It was a huge moment for the Algerian fans when their team got its maiden last-16 entry in the World Cup after closing the door on Russia with a 1-1 draw as 10-man Belgium edged past South Korea 1-0 to stay atop Group H.

Algeria was trailing 0-1 before Islam Slimani scored in the 60th minute of the game. With Belgium finishing on nine points, Algeria, which will meet Germany for a place in the quarter-finals, ended with four to Russia`s two and South Korea`s one.
