Death sentenced to acid attacker in Madhya Pradesh’s MorenaBhopal: Death had been sentenced to acid attacker by local court in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. The accused had thrown the acid on 28-year old woman who succumbed to burns in few hours. Three relatives of the woman had also sustained injuries in the acid attack which had been taken place in Porsa village of Morena district on 21 July 2013.

The upper sessions judge PC Gupta orders for the accused Yogendra Singh Tomar “To be hanged till death” as it comes under “rarest of the rare” category in Indian Law.

The victim, Rubi Gupta was at her parents’ house in Porsa town in the district when Yogendra Tomar, a resident of Ambah knocked on doors past midnight entered the house and threw acid on the woman.

Rubi was badly injured in the attack. When the victim’s cousins and grandmother offered resistance, Tomar threw acid on them too and fled.

All four were rushed to the district hospital where Rubi succumbed.

One of the cousins lost sight. Investigations revealed Tomar was a jilted lover taking revenge. Officials said Tomar had an affair with the victim in the past.

Notify that it is one of the most historic judgements over the acid attack cases which any court had sentenced.
