Landslide in a village of Pune with over 100 people trappedPune: Massive landslide in Malin village in Ambegaon taluk of Pune district due to rainfall in which more than forty houses buried on Wednesday.

The village of the district was hit by the landslide after two lakes in the region overflowed today morning. There are over 750 residents in the village.

Around 150 people are said to be buried under the debris. Police official Vinod Pawar told media persons that the accident occurred around 5 a.m., as heavy downpour loosened earth and dislodged rocks and boulders. Heavy rain has continued to lash the region over the past four days

Malin village is just 10 kilometres away from Bhimashankar Jyotirling and just 70 km from Pune city.

The search and rescue operation had been activated by district administration. A team of 100 member of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had rushed to the Malin village and locals too helping to save people.
