PM Narendra Modi, Jaitley to attend BRICS summit after budgetThe Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meeting over 10 heads of state during the visit from July 13-16, including leaders of the BRICS countries: Russian President Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Jacob Zuma as well as host Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff in Fortaleza. The summit will start on July 15.

After attending the BRICS summit, Modi will move to Brazilia, where President Rousseff has invited leaders of South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuala and Surinam to meet with them as well.

The government is yet to announce that how many bilateral meetings Modi will have on this tour but all eyes will be on his meetings with President Xi and President Putin. It is expected that the Chinese president would visit India in Septembe.

It is likely that declaration about the setting up of $100 billion dollar BRICS bank is also expected during the summit. China has proposed to base the bank in Shanghai but this has not been finalized yet.
