Adityanath’s hate speech on Love Jihad caught on camera

Adityanath's hate speech on Love Jihad caught on camera New Delhi: A provocative video of BJP Member of Parliament Yogi Adityanath exhorting Hindu men to marry 100 Muslim women if one Hindu woman is forcibly converted surfaced on Tuesday.

If they take one Hindu girl, we will take 100 Muslims girls,” the MP from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh is seen as saying to a crowd of about a thousand people in the undated video posted on YouTube.

Asked by news channel to confirm if he indeed made those remarks, the firebrand BJP leader said, It is the media’s responsibility to get a video examined before showing it. I owe no clarification to anybody on this matter, he said

Aditynanath, who is facing charges of inciting communal tension in his constituency Gorakhpur, is not new to controversy. Last month, he created a huge controversy with his speech in Parliament where he called on Hindus to take matters in their hands and accused opposition Congress of working on Pakistan’s agenda.

Though the BJP removed Love Jihad, forced conversion of Hindu women to Islam as alleged by right-wing organisations, from its resolution in a party meeting in Vrindavan last week in the run-up to the bypolls in Uttar Pradesh, the issue continues to be raked up by fringe groups in the state.

Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, member of the Muslim Personal Law Board, says there is no such thing as Love Jihad.

Mahali said, There have been stray incidents where conversions have been done for marital purposes but for that the entire community cannot be held guilty,. The BJP only wants communal polarisation. Opposition parties in UP have also attacked the senior BJP leadership for not making its stand clear on the issue, he said.
