Asiad-bound coach accused of harassing girl in training campNew Delhi: A woman gymnast has accused an International gymnast Chandan Pathak and Asian Games-bound coach Manoj Rana of making obscene and lewd remarks against her at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi on Wednesday.

He had been accused the duo of hurting her dignity. She also added that this is not the first incident, and it has happened on several occasions.

Notify that gymnast is not part of the Asiad squad and had alleged that the accused threatened her with dire consequences and the Gymnastic Federation of India (GFI) tried to suppress her complaint. The incident took place on September 2.

Additional Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said that FIR had been registered by Delhi Police against the two on Tuesday for outraging a woman’s modesty (509 IPC) and criminal intimidation (506 IPC) at the IP Estate police station in central Delhi.

The victim said, “They were discussing my attire and made fun of my innerwear saying, ‘Arey safed hai safed hai’ and made various gestures towards me.”

“They kept making fun of me…in abusive language which harmed my dignity and self-respect. There are words which were highly depressing and I cannot elaborate,” she added.
