PETA activists mobbed and roughed up in Bhopal over ‘Vegan Id’ callBhopal: Some people of Muslim community had mobbed and roughed up a group of PETA activists who were calling for celebrating ‘Vegan Id’ in Bhopal on Monday. The activists were urging people to celebrate vegan Id-uz-Zuha. They were assembled in front of They had assembled in front of biggest mosque in the country named Tajul Masajid.

They also raised slogans against PETA like ‘PETA, go back’ and ‘Mazhab mein dakhal-andazi band karoo’.

In the ensuing melee, an activist, Benazir Suraiya was roughed up while other activists left the spot. People of this community had objected to the venue chosen by PETA activists.

A protester said, “This is the first time they are interfering in religious issues of any community. Issuing an appeal is different and standing in front of a mosque to change the way we celebrate our festival and observe faith is different.”

Meanwhile people had become very much violent that they throw stones on police too who had came to the place to rescue PETA activists.
