Two main regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir – the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – are locked in a do or die electoral battle while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress too are giving the pols their best shot.

PM Modi has told voters to end the dynastic rule and vote for the BJP if they wanted to usher in an era of development and prosperity in Kashmir. The BJP is banking heavily on Prime Minister Modi’s aggressive campaigning in its bid to achieve the ‘Mission 44+’ target required in an assembly of 87 seats.

The J&K polls will be held in five phases beginning on November 25. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.
