#Bengaluru : The #Karnataka #Government on Monday decided to hand over to #CBI the probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer #DKRavi . ”I am handing over case to CBI out of the respect for the sentiments of the people and the parents of D.K. Ravi” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday decided to hand over to CBI the probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi that had led to state-wide protests. The Chief Minister made the announcement in the Assembly, saying he was referring the case to CBI honouring the feelings of parents of Ravi and public sentiments. The @CMofKarnataka has announced a CBI probe in to the death of #DKRavi. CM has said CID will help the CBI in all ways.
”I am handing over case to CBI out of the respect for the sentiments of the people and the parents of D.K. Ravi. Opposition should stop playing politics with a death at least now,” CM said. Opposition in the council persisted with ‘dharna’ demanding resignation of Home Minister K.J. George. House has been adjourned for 15 minutes. The council wants CM to withdraw his written statement because it casts aspersions on opposition. The family of Ravi, who had made a mark as a bold officer and taken on the sand and land mafia besides ordering crackdown on tax evaders, had suspected foul play and demanded an inquiry by the central agency  Profile #DKRAVI’S  D.K. Ravi was born on 10 June, 1979.
He completed his B.Sc. from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, and his M.Sc. from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi. He was an IAS officer of the 2009 batch. He was first posted as Assistant Commissioner in Revenue Department, Gulbarga Sub-division. Later, he was a Chief Executive Officer in the Koppal Zilla Panchayat.
