#Google will invest more into India, hire people and set up a new campus, Google CEO  Sunder Pichai said Wednesday, underscoring the importance of the country for the Internet giant.
US-based Google is bullish about the Indian market, which it called among its most important. It said that India will have more Android users that the US by 2016.

“We will build new campus, ramp up engineering presence in Hyderabad to make products for India; and increase hiring in Bengaluru, Pichai told.

The company is also partnering with the National Skill Development Council to train 2 million developers in India.

In order to fulfill India’digital ambitions, Google plans to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to 100 railway stations.

“We will be ready to provide free Wi-Fi services at 100 railway stations in India by the end of 2016,”Pichai added.

This is Chennai-born Pichai’s first visit to India in fact his first overseas trip after he took over as CEO of the restructured Google in August.

Pichai, on his two-day India trip also said that Google’s rural internet program – Project Loon – will move from pilot to full scale program to cover 300,000 villages in India.

Google is showcasing and pitching its plan to make internet available for all even in rural areas India,
Pichai will meet Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu and Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad later in the day. In the course of his two-day visit, Pichai will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee, with whom a state dinner has also been scheduled for Thursday.
Google has also invited a host of leading start-ups and major industry representatives from various sectors in India. Representatives from taxi aggregators such as Ola, travel websites Yatra and Makemytrip, automobile major Royal Enfield, and officials from the Union government were also present at the event.

according to Google, is among the top 5 countries using offline maps today. “We are focused on keeping Maps relevant for India,” Jen Fitzpatrick, VP for Maps, Google said.
