BJP’s women wing staged a protest on Thursday against BSP supremo Mayawati.Lucknow: The BJP’s women wing staged a protest on Thursday against BSP supremo Mayawati over her inaction against party cadres for insulting the family members of expelled saffron party leader Dayashankar Singh.

The agitators jostled with the police and tried to break the barricades. Carrying placards in their hands, they were also seen raising slogans against the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister.

However, BSP general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui earlier in the day refused to express any regret and said neither he nor his party workers said anything “obscene” or “objectionable” against Dayashankar’s family during their protest last Thursday.

BJP leader Shrikanth Sharma told ANI on Wednesday that BJP was quick to expel Dayashankar for his derogatory remark against Mayawati, but on the other hand the BSP did not take any action.

Dayashankar, who was last seen at the temple in Deoghar, Jharkhand, on July 24, has been absconding ever since he was booked for his derogatory remarks against the BSP chief.

The complaint lodged by BSP national secretary Mewalal Gautam alleged that Dayashankar’s remark had hurt the feelings of his party workers and the Dalit community across India.
