New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna has died on Thursday following a long battle with cancer.
The actor was suffering from bladder cancer and was hospitalised in Mumbai.
Here are a few things to know about the disease that has claimed the life of the actor:
Bladder is any types of cancer that start from the epithelial lining of the urinary bladder.
The exact cause of bladder cancer is unknown, however, tobacco smoking is the main known contributor to urinary bladder cancer in most populations. It’s also linked with exposure to certain chemicals.
Treatments for bladder cancer include – surgery, biological therapy and chemotherapy.
The actor, who was also an active politician, was 70 years of age.
