New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi exited Madhya Pradesh on Friday after addressing a rally in Lanji town, only to take the political fight to another poll bound state of Rajasthan where he is scheduled to hold two rallies on Monday. Polls in Rajasthan are scheduled for December 1. The election campaigns in the state in the coming days will see Rajasthan donning the image of a ‘political battleground’ just like MP did days before November 25 elections.
Earlier, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was seen attributing the credit of the rise of Rajasthan as one of the most developed states of India to Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government, while addressing a rally in Kota district of poll-bound Rajasthan on Saturday- her first rally in the state this month. Gehlot government started numerous progressive schemes for the state. We passed the RTI act to put a check on corruption. Rajasthan has now become an educational hub; many new institutions have been set up in the state. Congress has worked for the welfare of the farmers and people unlike BJP who have snatched away their lands,” she said.
Accusing BJP of bad-mouthing the Congress, she had said,” BJP says our medicines are poisonous; I would like to say their mentality is venomous. Congress will continue to work for the welfare and upliftment of the people, no matter how much BJP criticizes it. BJP is only greedy to come to power; it is not concerned about the poor. To this, Narendra Modi had hit back at Congress saying “Madam’s Shehzada once said in Jaipur that his mother told him that power is poison.
Narendra Modi said, They ruled the country for almost 50 years since Independence…then who has tasted poison for a longer period…it is Congress…then who else can be more poisonous. Now, Rahul Gandhi is expected to take Narendra Modi on for his remarks while he addresses supporters in Rajasthan. The attack and counter-attacks are going to get only more intense in the state with Rajasthan assembly polls less than a week away.
