New Delhi: Less than 48 hours since a 14-year-old Manipuri girl was raped in Munirka by her landlord’s son, there is yet one another minor who has become a victim of the terrible crime. A 6-year-old girl was raped in Delhi’s GTB enclave on Sunday.
The minor was playing outside her home at around 4 pm when she was lured by her neighbour, 33-year-old Ravinder, into his home and allegedly raped her. Sources said, Ravinder lured the girl into his house with a packet of biscuits.
The heinous crime only came to light later when the child was found crying outside her house. When other neighbours spotted her crying outside his residence, they took her to her parents’ house. But, the parents couldn’t figure out at first why their daughter was crying, a senior police official said.
It was only after she complained of severe pain in her private parts, the parents questioned her further after whom the girl narrated the incident, the police official added. Medical examination conducted on the victim has confirmed that the Class I student was raped. An FIR has been lodged against Ravinder, who is still at large.
